PUMA and Italian Football Association (FIGC) jointly released Italy Home Shirt 2016 for Italy national team to participate in 2016 European Cup. The new shirt completed its debut at Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence, Italy, which is the main symbol of civil power for the city of Florence. There is Plazza della Signoria in front of the town hall. Italy national team players Gianluigi Buffon, Manolo Gabbiadini and Davide Astori wore the new shirt like divine statues.
Gianluigi Buffon is widely regarded as the greatest goalkeeper by professional players, excellent managers and loyal football fans. The 39-year-old man plays for Serie A club Juventus and Italy national team. He is currently the most expensive goalkeeper in history, following his €52 million transfer from Parma to Juventus in 2001, as well as being the most expensive Italian player. Buffon has also won prestigious individual awards. In 2017, he has won the Best FIFA Goalkeeper award and been named the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year eleven times.
Unfortunately, Italy national team has missed 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The powerful player announced his retirement from Italy national team. He cried and said he was disappointed for himself and the Italian football development because he didn’t win the game that was of great importance for his country.
The new shirt is designed and manufactured by PUMA showing respect for the greatest team. Inspired by the profound culture of Italian football: growing passion and a strong sense of pride, designers gave this new design. Many unique details are included in the shirt.
The players of Italy national team always wear blue home shirt in honour of the House of Savoy, under whom Italy was unified in 1861. Accordingly, the newly released home shirt is predominately blue. It features a high-round collar which keeps a classic charm. PUMA classic Form Strip is shown on the shoulders and sleeves. The small Italy national flag on both sides of the shirt and the team badge on the chest pay homage to the nation while PUMA logo aims to recognize the brand easily.
White shorts and blue socks complete the home kit.
The advanced ACTV Thermo-R technology is used to make these Italy shirts to help players maintain body temperature during exercise. Special material can absorb excess heat and release it back to the body when it is needed.
“The new design has created a lot of compelling details, and the powerful Italian culture has influenced the whole design. We get inspiration from the rich heritage of Italian football and learn from it. I am proud of the final design and looking forward to the victories of the team.” said Tosten Hochstedtter, PUMA’s global creative director.
“I thank PUMA for designing our national team jersey. It is still one of our great partners. Besides, PUMA also provides support for our youth team, women’s soccer and beach soccer team. The national team represents the Italian flag when players play at football fields around the world. Therefore, the design that the national flag is inlaid in the shirt perfectly reflects this idea.” said Carlo Tavizio, the chairman of the FIGC.
The home shirt is being sold at Fc Kingdom. Loyal fans will not miss it. You must find your beloved one here.
